2019 Rhino Cup Debating Challenge[/caption]
The KAIS Rhino Cup is a debating challenge in which KAIS member schools develop students’ public speaking ability with the aim of fostering excellence in debating skills and promoting awareness and understanding of key local and international issues.
The event takes place in Term 1 each year and commences each September with a workshop for the Patrons and Judges followed by 3 rounds of debates before the finals in November.
The KAIS Rhino Cup is convened and run by Ms. Sheila Madahana who is the Public Speaking Patron, Brookhouse Schools.

Workshop – 4th September
Round 1 – 25th September
Round 2 – 16th October
Round 3 – 6th November
Finals – 25th November (Thursday) or 27th November (Saturday)
KAIS Rhino Cup 2020
Due to the challenges caused by the COVID 19 pandemic, this event was conducted virtually using a standard platform but the normal format and procedure for the debates were maintained. There was a sequence of friendly debates in lieu of the formal Rhino Cup Debating Challenge.
KAIS Rhino Cup 2019
In 2019, the Rhino Cup Debating Challenge celebrated 10 years of existence. There was an increase in the number of participating schools from 8 to 16 schools listed below;

The judges for the finals were Waihiga Mwaura, Uduak Amimo and Yucabeth Kidenda. Premier School emerged winners of the 2019 Rhino cup challenge.
