THE LEADERSHIP GROUP INSET
The Leadership Meeting held in Mombasa on Friday 15th September, 2023 at the Voyager Beach Resort dubbed "Leading Transformational Change: Inspiring Teams to Own the Vision".
The keynote speaker, Mr. Indimuli Kahi, OGW who is the Chair of the Africa Confederation of Principals (ACP), Chair of Kenya Secondary's Heads Association and a council member of the International Confederation of Principals. He spoke on the challenges of transformational leadership the main being a leader coming in with new ideas is how to marry one’s vision with the vision of the directors/governors- their culture, processes, and strategies. It requires radical thinking and strategies.
We had a panel discussion with the following panelists;
i. Indimuli Kahi, OGW- Machakos High School and Chair, Kenya Secondary School Heads Association (KSSHA)
ii. Clifford Oluoch, HSC- Regis School
iii. Mark Karake- Impact Africa Network
They tackled the following questions;
Q. How do you manage to lead a school through a financial and leadership crisis? How do you maintain the trust of your core clients- parents and learners? How do you get new ownership to buy into your vision, and how do you buy into the new owners’ vision?
